    Orchestra Camerata Strumentale “Città di Prato”, Opening Concert of the 2009-2010 season on the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition.

    The programme is designed to celebrate two great composers of the time of Catherine the Great: Handel and Haydn. Conducted by Filippo Maria Bressan, it includes two works inspired by St. Cecilia, Handel’s Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day and Haydn’s work, the great Missa Sanctae Ceciliae..

    A further edition of this initiative promoted by the Regione Toscana to explore topics connected with the economic development of the territory, business opportunities, innovative means of production and sustainability. Three key words epitomize the 2009 edition: knowledge, territory and energy. The theme common to all these events will be those elements in the productive network of the Region which have the competitive capacity to withstand the post-crisis situation. Within this context are a series of initiatives connected with the “Style of the Tsar” exhibition and the role it plays in the overall promotion of the Prato territory.

    The fourth edition of the contemporary art project covering the whole territory of the Province of Prato involves foreign and Italian artists, philosophers, writers and local inhabitants with a view to focusing on key features of the territory as it is “here and now”. The curator is Bert Theis, the famous artist of Luxembourg origin.

    Artistic craftsmanship and local restoration: Andrea di Giusto’s Polyptych

    This lecture will provide the occasion to make a public presentation of the Polyptych by Andrea di Giusto, from the first diagnostic tests to the finished work. The restoration of this gem of the Prato Museo Civico was financed by the Commune of Prato and Confartigianato Imprese Prato, following an appeal by the Fondazione Città Italia for the safeguarding of the art assets of Italy.

    La Casa del III Millennio – The ethics of habitation. A new aesthetic for living

    The theme of the third edition of “La Casa del III Millennio”, curated by Salvatore Re Architects, is the ethics of habitation, in the sense of a responsible and sustainable approach to the design and production of everything that goes to make up our habitat. A group of seven planners and the firms adhering to the CNA will be working together to create environments answering to man’s needs for a new aesthetic of living.
